Chronic Kidney Disease, public health challenge, burden of CKDAbstract
Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) is a global public health problem due to its notable incidence, prevalence and serious effects on the quality of life of patients. This disease, characterized by a progressive and irreversible loss of kidney function, presents a significant challenge. This study aims to: 1) describe the burden of CKD in Latin American countries, and 2) analyze the correlation between years of healthy life lost (YLL) and sociodemographic indices (ISD) and access and quality of care. health (ACS). This analysis is based on data from the Global Burden of Disease (GBD) 2024 Study, a global collaboration that collects health data from various sources, including hospital records, surveys, and mortality data. The Scopus and Web of Science databases were consulted to review the existing literature on CKD and its global impact.
